Auto sector wants phased duty cuts

A recent report by Primus Partners reveals that India’s vehicle exports to the US, including tractors, cars, and other built vehicles, totaled $2.5 billion in FY24, significantly surpassing imports of $0.59 billion. Meanwhile, auto component imports from the region, which includes 23 countries with the US, Canada, and Mexico as key markets, stood at $1.63 billion, accounting for 8% of India’s total auto component imports.
