About Pooja Lahri

Pooja Lahri is a senior climate change and sustainability professional with extensive experience in climate adaptation, environmental governance, urban resilience, and sustainability-led institutional transformation. She leads large-scale advisory and implementation-focused assignments at the intersection of public policy, international development, and climate finance, working closely with governments, multilateral institutions, and private sector stakeholders to design practical and scalable climate solutions.

Her expertise spans climate adaptation, coastal resilience, climate and healthcare, air quality management, environmental policy, green finance, carbon markets, ESG strategy, and sustainability-linked institutional reforms. She has worked extensively with the Government of India, state governments, Urban Local Bodies, and international financing institutions on policy development, programme design, technical assistance, and implementation support across climate-sensitive sectors.

She has led strategic programmes focused on coastal ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, air pollution management, climate-resilient urban development, and sustainable infrastructure planning. Her work includes designing institutional frameworks for climate resilience, developing financing pathways for climate-positive investments, supporting environmental compliance and governance systems, and creating policy roadmaps aligned with national and sub-national climate priorities.

She has also been actively engaged in building climate-health linkages, helping institutions understand the intersection of environmental risks and public health systems, and supporting climate-responsive approaches in healthcare planning and resilience. Her work in urban sustainability includes strengthening municipal systems, liveability frameworks, environmental monitoring, and long-term sustainability planning for cities.

In addition to project delivery, she has been instrumental in building strategic partnerships across academia, technology providers, climate-tech platforms, and implementation partners to create an ecosystem-led approach to sustainability. She strongly believes that climate action must move beyond compliance and become central to economic development, institutional planning, and future-ready governance.

Her approach combines policy depth, execution capability, stakeholder management, and strategic vision, enabling her to drive high-impact climate action across sectors while creating long-term institutional value.
