At the 30th CII Partnership Summit 2025, jointly organised by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, DPIIT and CII, Primus Partners hosted a forward-looking panel on “Where Debate Becomes Dialogue: IT & GCCs in Tier-2 Cities in India: Breaking Barriers or Building Illusions?"
During the session, we released the report “Reimagining India’s East Coast: Visakhapatnam’s Rise as a Hub for Global Capability Centres,” developed in collaboration with the Government of Andhra Pradesh and ANSR.
The report blends data, primary surveys and industry viewpoints to present a clear picture of why Visakhapatnam is emerging as a preferred destination for GCCs in India.
Visakhapatnam’s rise as a GCC hub is driven by a strong and expanding tech workforce and growing depth in niche digital talent. The city offers infrastructure built for global operations, including office spaces, IT parks, SEZs, robust digital networks, the upcoming Bhogapuram Airport and major urban developments that enhance livability and enterprise readiness.
Coupled with 30% lower operating costs, high workforce stability and a governance model anchored in the Speed of Doing Business framework, Vizag stands out as a strategic East Coast gateway. With its Indo-Pacific connectivity, expanding innovation ecosystem, and government-backed skilling initiatives, Visakhapatnam is rapidly emerging as one of India’s most promising global capability destinations, where talent, technology and transformative governance converge.
The report also highlights the importance of infrastructure, connectivity, cost benefits, talent availability, quality of life, ease and speed of doing business, policy incentives and R&D, drawing insights from primary surveys.
