• 25 MediCities can generate over 4 lakh direct jobs with a significant multiplier effect across sectors like diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, education, and wellness.
• Key implementation pillars include:
o Addressing Infrastructure Gaps through integrated planning of hospitals, research centers, medical education, residential and commercial units.
o Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Integration with a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) jointly owned by GoI and State Governments.
o 25% Reservation for Affordable Care under CGHS to ensure equitable access.
o Medical Value Tourism (MVT) to be leveraged as a strategic economic driver.
o Community Engagement & CSR-based Support to enhance inclusivity, quality, and patient experience.
• Estimated investment: INR 10,000 crore (GoI) for infrastructure support and INR 75,000–80,000 crore from private players.
• The proposal includes land zoning, revenue-sharing/lease models, global tendering (QCBS), and benchmarking with international accreditation standards (NABH, JCI, ISO).
