Two-wheeler EV sales skid for first time in FY26 in July, legacy cos retain lead
01-08-2025
Anurag Singh, Advisor, Primus Partners, shares his view on the decline in two-wheeler EV sales in July 2025.
He highlights that sales have dropped to approximately 101,000 units—down from 107,000 in July 2024 and 105,000 in June 2025. The sharpest decline is seen in Ola, driven by a crisis of customer confidence. According to him, both supply and demand-side factors are at play: supply remains constrained due to a shortage of rare earth magnets, while demand has been impacted by reduced consumer interest and limited availability of subsidies.
