Threading new ties: Surat and Tiruppur explore collaboration to boost India’s MMF trade
30-07-2025
Kanishk Maheshwari, Co-founder & Managing Director, Primus Partners, shares his view on the potential of cross-regional collaboration in the MMF sector. He highlights that a partnership between Surat and Tiruppur could significantly enhance India’s global share in man-made fibre exports and help achieve a target of $100+ billion in exports. Such collaborations enable clusters to exchange specialised knowledge—Surat improving export readiness and Tiruppur adopting advanced MMF manufacturing techniques. This, he adds, would lead to greater value addition within the country, reducing import reliance and improving productivity across the textile value chain.
