Tesla lags new foreign entrants in India EV race despite global playbook

Anurag Singh,Managing Director & COO Global Capability Hub, Primus Partner highlighted that Tesla’s India strategy appears cautious, with expensive imported cars and a lack of full ecosystem support, indicating it is still experimenting rather than fully committing. He added that traditional automakers may have a long-term advantage in the EV space, as building a successful company like Tesla under Elon Musk is rare and most EV startups struggle to sustain themselves.
