Tata Institute of Social Sciences is one of the premier institutions in the field of Social Sciences. Established in 1936, the institute is known for its pioneering work in the field of education, research and social justice. School of Habitat Studies, TISS, Mumbai was established in 2008 as centre for knowledge excellence with a focus on providing a comprehensive response to the knowledge-related needs of the society in the habitat sector.
On 9th March 2023, the School of Habitat Studies celebrated its Crystal Jubilee at the Mumbai Campus.
TISS Director Prof. Shalini Bharath inaugurated the Crystal Jubilee Celebrations of the School of Habitat Studies and launched the prestigious Jal Jeevan Mission Chair- awarded to the school. The school also felicitated its notable alumni and held round table conferences. Mr. Ajinkya Inamdar, Manager, Primus Partners and a notable alumnus of the school was invited to this event. He was part of the round table conferences titled ‘Voices of Hopes’ wherein he shared his memories of the TISS days, his learnings and experiences gained in the professional career as a management consultant.
The two-day event concluded with a stimulating valedictory speech by Dr. Ravi Chopra, Director of People's Science Institute, Dehradun.
