Auto component makers fear US tariffs will hit their revenues

Nikhil Dhaka, Vice President, Primus Partners, shares his view on the impact of US tariffs on Indian auto exports. He highlights that the US is a key market for Indian auto components, with exports worth $1.5 billion annually. Increased tariffs could dampen demand, pressuring Indian suppliers to explore alternative markets. However, India's passenger car exports to the US remain minimal—only $8.9 million in 2024, representing just 0.13% of total global car exports—making the tariff’s impact on Indian automakers largely negligible.
