Devroop Dhar, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Primus Partners, mentions that enterprises can expect moderate relief from AI infrastructure constraints in 2027 as new chip packaging and data-centre capacity comes online. However, meaningful improvement is unlikely before the second half of the year, and premium pricing is expected to persist until supply expands across the infrastructure ecosystem.
Dhar notes that hyperscalers such as AWS, Microsoft, Google and Meta, along with leading AI labs, will initially absorb most additional capacity due to their scale and long-term procurement commitments. Enterprises are likely to benefit indirectly through improved access to cloud-based AI services and GPU resources. In the near term, greater competition from alternative suppliers could strengthen negotiating leverage, with selective discounts potentially emerging on AMD-based cloud instances and older-generation GPUs.
