The trade relationship between the US and India has grown significantly over the years and has been pivotal in driving growth, innovation, and jobs in both countries. This strategic partnership has also enabled technology transfer, joint ventures, and the harmonisation of regulatory standards. These efforts have resulted in streamlining policy and regulatory processes to improve business environment in the two countries. Given the importance of this partnership, there is a need for continued dialogue and collaboration. Primus Partners in partnership with the US Commercial Service, organised a high-level roundtable discussion to explore opportunities for continued engagement and dialogue on USA-India trade ties. The event focused on the Consumer (D2C) and Nutraceutical sectors, facilitating a solution-oriented dialogue on critical issues such as ease of doing business, consumer protection, and supply chain resilience.
The roundtable was attended by senior government officials, including- Smt. Hemani Pande, Additional Secretary, DPIIT; Shri Minhaj Alam - Additional Secretary, MoFPI; Dr Alka Rao - Advisor, FSSAI; Dr Suchitra Mitra - Chief Industry Officer & Senior Vice President, Invest India; Mr Jonathan Heimer - Minister Counselor for Commercial Affairs, U.S. Embassy; Mr David Pasquini - Acting Principal Commercial Officer, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Embassy; Ms Anastsia Mukherjee - Commercial Officer, U.S. Commercial Service, U.S. Embassy; and included industry players such as Amway, Abott, Herbalife, Cargill, USISPF, Oriflame, Dr Reddy's and other senior leaders.
The insights from this deliberative forum will be synthesised into a comprehensive report, including actionable solutions and recommendations to enhance bilateral trade ties and will be presented to key decision makers for further discussion on these critical issues.
