This event brought together some of the greatest minds and thought leaders in the country to delve into the ethical and practical aspects of AI in the digital realm. With India helming the GPAI torch in 2023, the discussion was an intellectual exercise for our future Digital Nagriks.

The session was graced by Rohit Kumar Singh (Secretary, Ministry of Consumer Affairs), Vidhya Srinivasan (Google), Dr. Balaraman Ravindran (Professor, and Head, Centre for Responsible AI (CeRAI)), Indian Institute of Technology, Madras), Gaurav Raina and Mahesh Panchagnula (IIT Madras), Ashutosh Shukla, IPS Retd (Member, Grievance Addressal Committee, Ministry of Electronics and IT), Srinath Sridevan (Senior Advocate, Madras High Court). The deliberation also saw the participation of legal luminaries and academicians including from the prestigious IIT Madras, Ashoka University, EGROW Foundation, Trilegal, SAMVĀD: Partners, and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, as well as Senior Judges from High Courts, former policymakers and representatives from StartupTN.

The discussions emphasised the importance of ethical considerations in AI development and deployment, reflecting the growing need for responsible AI practices across industries. Discussions and suggestions on privacy, biases, LLM's role, innovation-regulation intersection, and voluntary principles spearheaded the event. This gathering was a significant step toward fostering a deeper understanding of AI's impact on society and the consumption economy, and the ways we can ensure its beneficial and responsible use.
