Launch of report by Primus Partners titled, "The growing impact of e-waste in India: Challenges for environment and need for social orientation"

A press conference was held on 10th January, 2023 in Delhi by Lions Club and Primus Partners to launch a report on e-waste management in India.

Some notable attendees were Shri Rakesh Kumar Singh, CO 194bn CRPF; Shri AP Singh, 3rd Vice President Lions Clubs International; and Shri Sameer Jain, Managing Director Primus Partners. The moderator of the event was Shri RK Jain.

When asked about whether the government was taking an equal initiative in disposing of e-waste, Mr. AP Singh informed the press about existing e-waste policies and mentioned that while these policies existed, their implementation needs to be amped up throughout the country, adding that "the responsibility of implementing a policy lies with the citizens, and the government cannot always be blamed for a policy's poor coverage and implementation. In this case, the government has clearly defined the responsibilities for both producers and consumers with regards to e-waste management."

When the e-waste report was presented, Mr. Sameer Jain commented saying that "the report highlights the challenges faced by the e-waste processing industry in India along with possible solutions and interventions that could be undertaken by specific stakeholders such as the government, producers, consumers, and processors. The report is a holistic document that works to set the stage for the ambitious e-waste collection drive being organized by the Lions Clubs International Foundation. Primus Partners is proud to be the official knowledge partner for the collection drive, and support Lions Clubs in their endeavour."
