On December 11, 2024, Primus Partners, in collaboration with Ashoka University, organised a dynamic and impactful panel discussion at The Oberoi, New Delhi, focusing on gender inclusivity in law, policy, and technology. The event brought together prominent voices from the legal, corporate, and public policy sectors to shed light on the barriers faced by women in these traditionally male-dominated fields and to propose actionable strategies for fostering inclusivity.
The distinguished panel featured Madhavi Goradia Divan, Senior Advocate at the Supreme Court of India; Ghita Harris-Newton, Senior Director of Public Policy at Google; Nilaya Varma, CEO of Primus Partners; Pratibha Jain, Head of Strategy & Group General Counsel, Everstone Group; Nikhil Sud, Professor at Ashoka University; and Anuradha Thakur, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The discussion covered a range of critical topics such as the systemic underrepresentation of women in senior legal and policy positions, the role of diversity in driving innovation, and the need for public-private partnerships to advance women’s participation in the digital economy and policymaking.
One of the key takeaways from the event was the recognition that gender inclusivity is not just a social imperative but also a driver of organizational and societal growth. The panelists highlighted the importance of mentorship, structured inclusion policies, and allyship in creating pathways for women to excel in leadership roles. The pragmatism around gender-sensitivity training and institutional reforms to create an equitable environment, was also deliberated upon. The event also provided a platform for the exchange of diverse perspectives, including questions and interactive discussions from a highly engaged audience of young policy professionals, industry leaders, and some of the credible civil society institutions.
Primus Partners remains committed to fostering platforms that facilitate meaningful dialogues and drive actionable outcomes. This event is part of our broader mission to promote inclusivity, innovation, and sustainable growth across sectors.
