In our latest report, Unified Platform Economy Approach, Primus Partners highlights how rapid digitalization presents a unique opportunity to transform India’s bus travel industry. 85.8% of surveyed passengers prefer online portals for long-distance bookings, with private aggregator apps favored for ease of use, customer service, and deals. Notably, 72.5% of respondents would consider State Transport Corporation (STC) apps if their user experience improved.
The survey suggests a collaborative approach between STCs and private aggregators could leverage the strengths of both sectors, combining technological advancements with the trust and reliability associated with government services. There is a need for a unified and forward-looking policy framework that harnessesthe benefits of digital platforms to transform India’s transport sector, making it more accessible, efficient, and sustainable.
